Where is Miami Beach?
Miami Beach is on the central-southern Gold Coast in the suburb of Miami. It sits between a rocky headland to the south and Nobby Beach to the north, just south of Mermaid Beach and north of North Burleigh / Burleigh Heads.
Is Miami Beach good for swimming?
Yes. Miami Beach has two patrolled areas. The main patrol near the Miami Beach Surf Life Saving Club (Hythe Street) operates daily 8am–5pm year-round. A second patrol at Santa Monica Road runs on weekends from November to April and during school holidays. Always swim between the red and yellow flags.
Is Miami Beach quieter than Broadbeach or Surfers Paradise?
Yes. Miami Beach has a more residential, low-key feel with beach shacks and a narrow park rather than high-density tourist development, making it generally quieter than the busier northern beaches.
Are dogs allowed at Miami Beach?
Dogs are prohibited within 200 metres of the flagged swimming areas. Use designated off-leash dog exercise areas elsewhere on the Gold Coast.
