Frenchmans Beach Stradbroke Island is the 500 metre east-facing cove at Frenchmans Beach Point Lookout between North Gorge and Deadmans Beach. Surfing Frenchmans Beach works on an exposed southeast swell, dog friendly Frenchmans Beach is on-leash only, and Frenchmans Beach facilities sit at the roadside stairs rather than on the sand..

🏖️Why Visit Frenchmans Beach?

Frenchmans Beach Stradbroke Island is the secluded east-facing cove at Frenchmans Beach Point Lookout, cut off by 278 steps and steep vegetated bluffs. That stair climb is why the sand stays quieter than Cylinder Beach. Surfing Frenchmans Beach is an exposed beach break for competent riders, dog friendly Frenchmans Beach is on-leash only, and Frenchmans Beach facilities stay at the roadside stairs — not on the sand. Use Cylinder Beach or Main Beach if you want flags.

🏊 Swimming at Frenchmans Beach

⚠️ Unpatrolled — no lifeguards and no flags on Frenchmans Beach Stradbroke Island.
🌊 Rip-dominated east-facing beach — average swell 1 to 1.5 m with a permanent rip against Dune Rocks.
🚫 Not a family swim beach — strong shorebreak, rocks and topographic rips.
🚩 Swim between the flags at Cylinder Beach or the Point Lookout SLSC strip on Main Beach.
🐾 Walk the sand and rock pools instead — that is what most visitors actually do here.

👙Things to Do at Frenchmans Beach
