Emu Park Main Beach is the patrolled east-facing town beach off Keppel Street. Emu Park parking sits by the surf club, Emu Park playground is Kerr Park on the foreshore, and the Singing Ship Emu Park stands on the headland above Emu Park Beach.

🏝️Why Visit Emu Park Main Beach?

This is the town swim in Emu Park, about 17 km south of Yeppoon, not a Yeppoon beach. Flags go up in season, Kerr Park sits on the grass behind the sand, and the headland walk takes you to the monument and the Anzac boardwalk. Shops and cafes are a short walk from Keppel Street.

🐕 Dog-Friendly Rules at Emu Park Main Beach

🚫 Emu Park Main Beach — no dogs on the bathing beach from the Wood Street access through to the point north of the surf club. Do not walk dogs on this flagged sand.
🐕 Fisherman’s Beach — different beach. Off-leash from 150 m north of Bell Park to Tanby Point, weekdays only, not weekends or public holidays. Access via Hill Street.
🕖 Everywhere else — Livingstone default is on-leash, then off-leash before 8am and after 4pm unless a sign says otherwise.
🧹 Clean up — always. Read the sign on the day.

☀️ April to October — drier picnic and walk weather.
🪼 November to May — stinger season. No stinger net here.
🚩 Swim with flags — weekend patrols in the season above.

🗺️ Emu Park Parking & Getting There

🚗 Drive — Scenic Highway. About 15 to 20 minutes south of Yeppoon, about 45 minutes from Rockhampton.
🅿️ Emu Park parking — Keppel Street car park beside the surf club. Extra foreshore bays. Accessible bays at the club.
🚌 Bus — Young’s Bus Service Rockhampton, Yeppoon and Emu Park. Town-centre stop, then a short walk to the sand.
🚙 4WD — none. Sealed town streets. No beach driving.
🏕️ Camping — none on this sand. Paid stay is Tasman Holiday Parks Fisherman’s Beach, next bay.

💡 Local Tips

🚩 Flags first — this is the patrolled family swim. Fisherman’s Beach is the boat-ramp and dog stretch.
♿ Mobi-mat — ask the SLSC or Honey Bee Collective for the beach wheelchair.
☕ Food — town cafes, not a kiosk on the flags. Bluff Café, Bell Park Bakery and Hill Street are the short walk.
🔗 Do not mix the two beaches — Main Beach for the swim and playground. Fisherman’s Beach for weekday off-leash.
