🚶 Beach walks — Long quiet sand between Taylor Point and the Clifton end.
🏊 Swimming — Calm water. Use the stinger net November to May and swim between the flags when they are up.
🍖 Picnics and BBQs — Covered plates and tables in the foreshore park beside the main car park.
🐕 Dog walking — Off-leash on the signed southern sand only.
🎠 Playground — Small play area in the beach park. Brolga Park is a short walk south if you want a bigger playground.
🎣 Taylor Point rocks — Southern headland for a look, photos and shore fishing. Watch the tide and rocks.
🌅 Sunrise — East-facing sand with Double Island and the ranges behind you.

🏊 Stinger net — Installed near the main entrance November to May. Swim only inside the enclosure in that season.
🚩 Patrols — Seasonal lifeguards. Flags are not up every day of the year. If there are no flags, treat it as unpatrolled.
🪼 Marine stingers — Present November to May. The net reduces risk. It is not 100 percent stinger proof.
🐊 Be Crocwise — Crocodiles can use nearby creeks and mouths. Keep clear of creek water and do not swim at dawn or dusk away from the net.
🌊 Best water — May to October is the simplest swim window. Hazard rating is low to moderate.

🐶 Dog Friendly Kewarra Beach

🐕 Off-leash sand — Official Cairns Regional Council zone commencing 100 m south of the stinger net and continuing to the rocks at Taylor Point. No time limit listed.
🦮 On-leash everywhere else — Rest of the beach, paths, park and esplanade.
🚫 Stinger net — Dogs are not allowed inside the net or on the sand directly in front of it.
🏞️ Nova Street Park — Separate fenced off-leash park at Nova Street and Sunbird Park. That is not the swim beach.
🐊 Creek mouths — Keep dogs out of creek water. Be Crocwise.
💩 Clean up — Compulsory. On-the-spot fines apply.

♿ Access — Path and park are the easy part. Soft sand to the water is limited for wheelchairs.

🚗 Driving: Kewarra Beach is located about 25 minutes north of Cairns CBD along the Captain Cook Highway. Turn right at Moore Road or Poolwood Road, both leading directly to the beach and foreshore reserve.
🚍 Public Transport: Sunbus Route 110 operates between Cairns City and Kewarra Beach, with stops along Poolwood Road just a few minutes’ walk from the sand.
🅿️ Parking: Free parking is available near the Kewarra Beach Resort and along Kewarra Street and Moore Road, with shaded bays close to picnic shelters and BBQs.
