🐋 Whale Season — July to November you can often see humpbacks from here. Boats leave from the harbour, not from the deck.

🐶  Dog Friendly Urangan Beach

🦮 Live 24 Hour Off-Leash — Fraser Coast Stage 1: dog friendly Urangan Beach is off-leash all day from the Margaret Street groyne to Dayman Park Reef World.
🦮 Second Live Zone — South of the marina, Moolyyir Creek to Pulgul Creek is also 24 hour off-leash until Stage 2 starts.
🚫 No Dogs on Urangan Pier — Dogs are not allowed on the 868 metre pier deck.
➡️ Everywhere Else On-Leash — If a stretch is not signed off-leash or dog-free, dogs stay on-leash on the sand, path and parks.
🧹 Effective Control — Carry bags and keep your dog under effective control. Fine for not keeping a dog under effective control in public is $863 from 1 July 2026.
🅿️ Urangan Beach Parking — Park at Pier Park and Dayman Park, then walk to the signed zone. Check the signs at every access.

☀️ April to October — Milder, drier days for the pier walk and a high-tide swim.
🪼 November to May — Marine stingers are possible. No stinger nets.
🐋 July to November — Humpbacks offshore. Watch from the deck or book a boat at the harbour.
📅 Year-round — Subtropical. The pier and parks stay open. The beach is unpatrolled in every month.

🚗 Drive — Sealed access via Boat Harbour Drive or the Esplanade. About 5 minutes from Torquay and 15 minutes from Pialba. No 4WD.
🅿️ Urangan Beach parking — Pier Park, Dayman Park and Esplanade bays at the land end of the pier. Read signs for time limits.
🚌 Bus — Wide Bay Transit along the Esplanade to Torquay, Scarness and Pialba.
