📍 Other Point Vernon zones — separate 24 hour listings run Aplin Street to Pines Park, and Ansons Road to Spence Street toward Dundowran. Read the nearest sign.
🗑️ Effective control — recall, no nuisance, pick up. Fine for not keeping a dog under effective control in public is $863 from 1 July 2026.

♿ Wheelchair access — Black Stump Park and ESA Park have accessible toilets, picnic tables and paved paths. The rocky foreshore and sand are not an accessible beach entry.

🌅 Sunset is year round — the cleanest colour is on clear dry-season evenings. Arrive 30 to 45 minutes early.
🪼 Stingers — not zero. Beachsafe lists bluebottles and Irukandji at Gatakers Bay. Risk is higher in the warmer months. This cove is unpatrolled.
🌊 Tide for the ramp — if you do not know the channel, launch within 2 hours either side of low tide.

🚗 Drive the Esplanade — Gatakers Bay Point Vernon is on the sealed Point Vernon Esplanade. No barge, no 4WD, no beach driving.
📍 Ramp address — 27 Esplanade, Point Vernon QLD 4655 for the Gatakers Bay boat ramp.
⏱️ From town — about 10 minutes from Pialba and about 15 to 20 minutes from Urangan Harbour in normal traffic.
🅿️ Where to pull in — signed ramp car park first, Black Stump Park if you want toilets and picnic shade.
🚌 No useful bus to the ramp — almost every visitor drives. Do not plan this stop around Wide Bay Transit.
🛟 Unpatrolled — there are no SLSC flags at Gatakers Bay Beach. Do not check patrol times for this cove.
