The water is sheltered, the parks are close to the sand, and most visitors come for a swim at high tide, a walk on Turtle Way, or a quiet day with the kids. Wyndham Park and Bray Park hold the main Boyne Island Beach facilities, so you can picnic, launch a kayak, and be back at the car without leaving the township.

🏊‍♂️ Swimming and Wading — Calm river water, best near high tide. Unpatrolled, so stay in close and watch the tide drop off the sandbars.
🛶 Kayaking and SUP — Sheltered water for beginners. Launch near Bray Park or the river mouth, not into the shipping channel.
🎣 Fishing — Cast from the foreshore, rock edges or the Bray Park pontoon for whiting, bream and the odd barra. Check current size and possession limits.
🍖 Picnics and BBQs — Use the shelters and tables at Wyndham Park. Keep 10 m from playgrounds if you have a dog.

🐊 Be Crocwise — The Boyne River is crocodile country. Do not clean fish at the water’s edge or let dogs swim unsupervised at dawn and dusk.

🚌 Bus — CDC Gladstone services run Gladstone to Boyne Island–Tannum Sands. Confirm the current timetable before you rely on it.
