Haggerstone Island is a private far-northern reef stay about 600 km north of Cairns, reached by Haggerstone Island charter then a short boat transfer, with Haggerstone Island fishing and Haggerstone Island snorkelling included and Haggerstone Island Resort the only rooms on the island.

Haggerstone Island is for guests who want a closed private island, not a Cairns ferry day. A handful of villas, included boat days, and no walk-up visitors. You come for Haggerstone Island fishing and Haggerstone Island snorkelling on water that is not a public tour circuit. Haggerstone Island Resort is the only stay. If you cannot fly the Haggerstone Island charter, this page is not the trip.

Is Haggerstone Island a private island?
Yes. It is a privately owned and operated exclusive island resort. Guests stay in one of the five handcrafted villas or book the entire island for up to 12 people.
How do you get to Haggerstone Island?
Fly commercially to Cairns, then take a private charter flight (approximately 2 hours scenic) to the nearby airstrip, followed by a short boat transfer. An alternative route is available via Weipa. Luggage is limited to soft bags of around 12 kg per person. All transfers are arranged as part of the stay.
What accommodation is available?
Five individually designed beachfront villas (including Haus Mawu, Lagoon Hut, Kwila Hut and Beach Hut). The entire island can be booked exclusively for groups of up to 12. Stays are all-inclusive.
When are marine stingers present?
Marine stingers can occur from November to May. Stinger suits are recommended for water activities during this period.
Can you do Haggerstone Island as a day trip?
No. There is no public ferry and no day-trip product.
Is Haggerstone Island fishing included?
Yes. Haggerstone Island fishing and spearfishing are run on the included 45 ft jet boat days.
